2. Shovel Production Line: Coil to Finished Head in Five Steps

Step 1 — Blanking + Punching
Cut and punch the steel coil into the basic T-shaped blank of the shovel head. Equipment options:
125–200 ton mechanical press — high efficiency, ideal for stable batch production
125–200 ton hydraulic press — consistent pressure, preferred for manganese steel
Laser cutting machine — flexible production for multiple shovel specifications
Step 2 — Heating (Optional)
If manganese steel is used, an electric or gas-fired furnace is required to pre-soften the material before forming. If Q235 standard plate is used — no heating is needed. This step and its associated equipment investment can be eliminated.
Step 3 — Shovel Head Forming
Press the pre-cut blank into the exact shape and back-angle of the shovel head. The rear-face curvature is the technical centerpiece of this step. The demonstration unit — our 160-ton four-column hydraulic forming press — delivered consistent geometry with fast die changeovers.
Step 4 — Rounding (Tube Forming)
