This automatic feeding system is designed specifically for aluminum screw cap, ROPP cap, and other closure production lines. It consists of two core units: a cap lifting device and a vibratory bowl auto-feeding machine. The lifting device raises caps in bulk from the hopper to the vibratory bowl, where electromagnetic vibration generates a directional excitation force, driving the caps to automatically align, orient, and convey along a spiral track, then discharge them in a consistent orientation one by one into the next process (such as knurling, lining, or inspection). The vibration frequency and bowl gap are adjustable, ensuring stable, high-speed feeding for aluminum caps of different sizes and shapes. Integrated with the line’s PLC control, it seamlessly links with the host machines, making it an indispensable front-end unit for building a fully automatic cap production line.
Cap Lifting Device: A chain-plate or belt elevator that smoothly lifts bulk caps from the floor hopper to the vibratory bowl inlet. The lifting speed is adjustable via frequency control and interlocked with the bowl’s level sensor for automatic refilling, eliminating repeated manual loading.
Vibratory Bowl Auto-Feeder: The core component is an electromagnetic vibratory bowl. Its working principle is as follows: when the electromagnetic coil is energized, it generates an alternating magnetic field, attracting the iron vibrating plate suspended in front. This causes the inclined bowl surface to produce micro-amplitude vertical oscillations through electromagnetic attraction. Combined with the spiral track and specially designed tooling such as wipers and cutouts, the caps climb along the track, automatically turning and orienting, and finally exit into the discharge chute in the required attitude.
Both the vibration frequency and the magnetic gap of the vibratory bowl can be precisely adjusted to achieve smooth, low-noise feeding. By only changing a few track tooling parts, quick changeover between different cap diameters (e.g., 18mm-38mm) and shapes (long skirt, short skirt, flat top) is possible.
High-Speed, Stable Feeding: Maximum feeding speed up to 200-400 caps per minute, matching the pace of high-speed stamping or knurling machines and preventing downtime due to material shortage.
Precise Orientation: Through multi-stage mechanical screening and air blow-off, it ensures 100% consistent discharge orientation, eliminating upside-down or misoriented caps from entering downstream processes.
Flexible Compatibility: The bowl track adopts a quick-release design, allowing product changeovers without extensive retuning and significantly reducing changeover time.
Low Wear, Quiet Operation: The bowl surface is treated with polyurethane or wear-resistant coating, protecting the cap surface from scratches while reducing operating noise.
Intelligent Control: Equipped with low-material alarm, full-material stop, and reverse-vibration jam clearing functions. It can be integrated into the line PLC to enable unattended automated production.
In a complete aluminum screw cap production line, the automatic feeding system acts as the critical bridge between upstream storage and downstream processing. It directly connects to the discharge end of the deep throat press or an independent buffer silo, and continuously supplies caps in a stable manner to the knurling/thread rolling machine, lining machine, vision inspection unit, and more. The reliability of this feeding system directly determines the overall line utilization and the final cap yield.
